Vicenza and its Palladian villas

Visit the splendid city of Vicenza, listed on UNESCO World Heritage sites, and listen to its fascinating story, rich in legends and characters.

Our itinerary
The excursion includes the panoramic villa route a few steps away from the historical center. You will see the gorgeous Almerico Capra villa, called La Rotonda, a masterpiece from Andrea Palladio, designed in the second half of the 16th century. It is considered the “perfect villa”, achieved at the peak of his career, and surrounded by a beautiful park. You will then visit Villa Valmarana ai Nani, a splendid villa from the 18th century, famous for its frescoes from Giambattista Tiepolo and known for the lovely dwarf statues that decorate the long driveway. Where do they come from? Our friendly guides will tell you all about it! A relaxing lunch break will follow. You will be free to wander in the city center or you can book your lunch at a special price with the excursion! Try a typical Vicenza menu at a well-known inn, where locals go! Don’t waste your time waiting for a table! If you have a sweet tooth, you should attend the Italian pastry crash course near the Palladian basilica! Directed by a local pastry chef, you will learn how to bake millefoglie (Napoleon), a delicate sweet with custard and puff pastry that you will eat at the end! After lunch, you will visit Vicenza’s historical center, an area of refined beauty where the Palladian Basilica, Piazza dei Signori, historical coffee bars, the Cathedral (Duomo), Palladio Boulevard and its splendid palazzi definitely stand out. Then, you will visit a unique and fascinating place: one of the oldest artistic print shops in Veneto, located in the heart of Vicenza in 16th century palazzo. This visit will allow you to observe the master printer at work, an age-old trade getting rarer and rarer.
